first bath
Finally at 3 weeks old, I found enough time and courage to give Claire her first bath. She enjoyed it way more than Annabelle did for her first bath. Mom was also more comfortable this time around too!
Roo hat
Daddy brought Annabelle an Akron U Roo hat. She doesn't really like it, but we think she looks super cute in it.
Annabelle 16 and 1/2 months
Annabelle loves being a big sister! She greets Claire every morning and after every one of her naps. She likes to pat her gently (for the most part). She claps her hands over Claire's hand. Annabelle is starting to learn how to run and she likes to crawl over the bottoms rails of the dining room chairs. Annabelle's favorite toys are plastic Easter eggs and the ball popper toy that she walks with (that old fashion toy with a stick & wheels that pops). Annabelle is imitate the "all done" sign at meals. She will say "ashes" and "down" for the Ring Around the Rosie song. Sometimes the ashes part sounds like "oh shit". Some other new words are light, yes, no,set, go,up. She is following directions more and likes to throw things in the trash can. She is doing good understanding the word, "stop" while being outside or at the top of the stairs. She is starting to make more of an attempt at poking her food with a fork. When she wants a snack and mommy says, no, then she will go get the box of cereal herself and then ask again by saying, "more" with the more sign. Annabelle loves being outside and playing with Daddy!

Claire Oma
Claire was born at 3:07am on Friday March 30th. We named her Claire because we both liked the name. Her middle name Oma, is after Matt's Grandma from Kentucky. Mommy started feeling contractions while they were test driving a vehicle, but didn't tell anyone until they got home. Then she texted her good friend Amy about the contractions because they felt different than before because they were so intense coming from the back. Then she decided to call the doctor and he told her to go to the hospital. They were admitted around 9:45pm at 4cm dilated. Mommy got her antibiotics and her epidural as soon as possible and everything was fine again! Her water broke around 11:30. It took a long time to get to 6cm and then 20 minutes after that she was at 10cm and everything was ready to go. She pushed for about 5 minutes and out came Claire at 3:07. It probably took Claire about 15 seconds (seemed like forever) to cry because the cord was wrapped around her. So Mommy didn't get to hold her until 1/2 later. Daddy was the first to hold her just like with Annabelle. Mommy is having a good recovery. Claire is adjusting well. She weighed 5lbs 12 1/2 oz at birth and 12 days later she is now 6lbs 7oz. She is great eater! She is getting up to eat about every 3 hours in the night and 2 1/2 hours during the day. Annabelle is enjoying so much of Daddy's attention! Annabelle is adjusting well to Claire also!

Annabelle cried every time Claire cried for the first day. After that Annabelle knew she was home for good. Now Annabelle will greet her in the morning or when she comes back from the sitters. Annabelle will pat her back, tummy, or top of her head as gentle as she could. Now when Mommy says Claire is sleeping, Annabelle says, "shh"
